In this version, we've brought BIP 353 proof support for hardware wallets. You know how frustrating it is to triple-check those long wallet addresses when sending crypto? To help with this issue, some clever folks have developed the ability to use simple names like "sethforprivacy.com" instead. Here's the smart part: when you're signing a transaction on your hardware wallet, it can now verify that "sethforprivacy.com" really does point to the correct address, even when your device is completely offline. This means fewer mistakes, faster transactions, and a better user experience.

The best part? Someone actually put up a bounty for this feature. Our developers Czarek and Konstantin saw it and knocked it out faster than you can finish a sandwich (yes, literally over lunch the next day.) 🥗

Desktop Users, Your Ledger Awaits

Desktop users, this one's for you: Ledger support is now available on Cake Wallet Desktop. Now use your Ledger Nano X, Stax, or Flex directly with Cake Wallet on your computer. One small catch: it's Bluetooth-only for now, so you'll need one of the newer Ledger models that support wireless connectivity.

Never Get Stuck with a Dead Node Again

Here's a problem many crypto users have faced: you open your wallet, try to sync, and...nothing. Your node is down, and you're stuck waiting or manually switching to another one. Well, those days are over with our new automatic node switching feature. With this update, if your main node goes down for any reason, your wallet will automatically hop to another trusted node and keep working like nothing happened. It's like a backup generator for your crypto wallet.

For our privacy-conscious users (and we know there are many of you!), this feature respects your preferences. This only works with trusted nodes, we're not just randomly connecting you to any node on the internet. You have complete control over which nodes are considered trusted for automatic switching, and you can disable the feature entirely if you prefer to keep things manual.
